Terms & Conditions of Sale

Last updated: October 2026

These Terms & Conditions apply to purchases made through the Karrek Stone website.

Karrek Stone specialises in bespoke natural slate products. All products sold through our website are cut and finished to order to the customer’s selected or supplied measurements and specifications. We do not sell stock or off-the-shelf products through the website.

By placing an order through our website, you agree to these Terms & Conditions.

1. Bespoke Products

Every product ordered through the Karrek Stone website is made to order.

Your slate will be individually cut and finished according to the dimensions, shape, thickness, finish and other options selected or supplied when placing your order.

Because manufacture is based on the information you provide, please carefully check all measurements and specifications before completing your purchase.

2. Measurements & Manufacturing Tolerances

The customer is responsible for ensuring that all measurements and specifications supplied when ordering are correct.

Unless otherwise stated or agreed, please allow an approximate manufacturing tolerance of 2–3mm on cut dimensions.

If you realise that you have supplied an incorrect measurement or specification after placing your order, please contact us immediately.

Where cutting or manufacture has not yet begun, we will make reasonable efforts to accommodate changes. Once manufacture has begun, changes may not be possible.

3. Payment

Website orders must be paid for in full at checkout unless expressly stated otherwise.

The total price, including any applicable delivery charges, will be displayed before you complete your purchase.

Payments are processed securely through the payment methods available at checkout. Karrek Stone does not directly store your full payment card details.

4. Natural Slate

Slate is a natural material, and variations are an inherent part of its appearance and character.

Colour, shade, pattern, texture, thickness and the amount of natural riven surface can vary between individual pieces. No two pieces of natural slate will be exactly identical.

Where an order contains multiple pieces, we will make reasonable efforts to select and match the slate as closely as possible. However, an exact match in shade, pattern or texture cannot be guaranteed.

If you are unsure about the appearance or finish of natural slate, please contact us before ordering. Customers are also welcome to arrange to view the slate before manufacture.

5. Hand-Finished Products

Our slate products are individually cut and hand finished.

Polished edges, bevels, curves, radii and other hand-finished details may therefore have minor variations.

Curved and shaped edges may not form a perfectly uniform radius. Reasonable variations resulting from hand finishing and the natural characteristics of slate are part of the nature of a bespoke product and are not necessarily defects.

6. Product Images

Photographs on our website are intended to show the general appearance, colour and character of our slate and finished products.

Because slate is a natural material, the product manufactured for you will not necessarily be identical to the product shown in a photograph.

Lighting, photography and different screens may also affect how colours and textures appear.

7. Bespoke Orders & Cancellation

All products sold through our website are bespoke and manufactured to the customer’s selected or supplied measurements and specifications.

Bespoke goods made to a customer’s specification may be excluded from the normal right to cancel that applies to many online purchases.

Once cutting, shaping or finishing of your order has begun, the order cannot normally be cancelled simply because you have changed your mind, no longer require the product or have supplied incorrect measurements.

If you wish to cancel an order, please contact us as soon as possible after placing it.

If manufacture has not begun, we will confirm whether cancellation is still possible.

Nothing in this section affects your statutory rights where goods are faulty, damaged or not as described.

Please see our separate Refunds, Returns & Cancellation Policy for further information.

8. Delivery

Available delivery methods and charges are displayed during checkout.

Customers are responsible for supplying a complete and accurate delivery address and suitable contact information.

Any delivery dates or times provided are estimates unless expressly confirmed otherwise.

Please inspect your order as soon as reasonably possible following delivery.

If you notice visible transit damage, please contact us within 48 hours where possible, providing photographs of the product, packaging and damage. Reporting transit damage promptly helps us investigate the matter with the delivery company.

Our request for notification within 48 hours does not remove or restrict your statutory rights.

9. Free Collection – Saltash

Where offered at checkout, customers may select Free Collection – Saltash instead of delivery.

We will let you know when your bespoke order is ready. Please wait for confirmation before travelling to collect it.

Customers collecting slate are responsible for ensuring that they have a suitable vehicle and that the products are adequately supported, secured and protected during transportation.

Once the order has been collected, Karrek Stone cannot accept responsibility for damage caused by unsuitable transportation, insufficient support, incorrect loading or subsequent handling.

10. Faulty, Damaged or Incorrect Goods

We take care to inspect orders before they leave our workshop.

If you believe your order is faulty, has been damaged during delivery or does not match the specification you ordered, please contact us as soon as reasonably possible.

We may request photographs and other information so that we can investigate the issue.

Where goods are faulty, damaged or not as described, we will deal with the matter in accordance with applicable consumer law.

The bespoke nature of our products does not affect your statutory rights in relation to faulty, damaged or incorrectly supplied goods.

11. Website Information & Pricing

We make reasonable efforts to ensure that descriptions, dimensions, prices and other information displayed on our website are accurate.

If an obvious pricing, description or specification error is identified after an order has been placed but before manufacture begins, we will contact you to explain the error and the available options.

12. Privacy & Cookies

Personal information supplied through our website or during checkout will be handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

Information about cookies and similar technologies used on our website can be found in our Cookie Policy.

13. Statutory Rights

Nothing in these Terms & Conditions is intended to exclude, restrict or reduce any consumer rights that cannot legally be excluded or restricted.

14. Governing Law & Legal Acknowledgement

These Terms & Conditions and purchases made through the Karrek Stone website are governed by the laws of England and Wales.

If you are a consumer living elsewhere in the United Kingdom, you may also benefit from mandatory consumer protections applicable where you live.

By placing an order through the Karrek Stone website, you confirm that you have had the opportunity to read these Terms & Conditions before completing your purchase.

15. Contact Us
